What is the Foreign Military Training Report (FMTR)?

The Foreign Military Training Report (FMTR) is the annual report to Congress, required by Section 656 of the Foreign Assistance Act, on the military training the Department of War and the Department of State gave foreign military personnel in the previous fiscal year and propose for the current one. What is the Foreign Military Training Report?

The Foreign Military Training Report (FMTR) is established by Section 656, , as an annual reporting requirement due to Congress by 31 January. The FMTR contains substantial detail on each training activity: foreign policy justification and purpose of the training, number of foreign military personnel provided the training and their unit of operation, location of the training, aggregate number of students trained for the country, the cost of the training, the operational benefits to U.S. forces, and the U.S. military units involved in the training.
